Dr. Matt Scheele
DVM, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Scheele has had an interest in radiology from a young age, spurred by his own broken bone mishaps as a child.
“X-rays have always been fascinating to me. They can be a very important investigative tool, especially when your patients can’t talk! I love being able to use radiology to effectively diagnose and provide the appropriate care for my patients.”
Dr. Matt Scheele is a 2016 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he practiced in various veterinary offices in western Missouri before relocating to Michigan in 2019 to support his wife Alec during her pediatric residency. Upon their return to Missouri, he joined the Animal Medical Center of Wentzville family as a full-time veterinarian in October 2021 and became part of our Family Vet team in August 2024.
Before attending veterinary school, Dr. Scheele interned on Salt Spring Island in Canada, where he rescued and rehabilitated seals. He also worked at the World Bird Sanctuary, contributing to education programs, rehabilitation efforts, field studies, and building projects.
In his personal life, Dr. Scheele enjoys spending time with his wife, Alec, and their two children, Oliver and Penelope. Their home is also shared with three dogs (Apollo, Artemis, and Demeter) and two cats (Freya and Odin). When not at the clinic, Dr. Scheele is an avid reader and gamer.
