Dr. Sara Burroughs

Being a veterinarian fulfills her life-long dream of helping animals and preventing disease.

“When I’m with a client, I want that person to feel like their pet is my only patient. I take the time to clearly explain the situation. I treat our patients just as I would my own family member.”

Dr. Sara Burroughs joined Family Vet of Lake St. Louis in March 2011. She has been with our team for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rockhurst University in Kansas City and then went on to graduate from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and being a veterinarian has been a life-long dream for her. She enjoys helping animals and educating clients on the various aspects of disease prevention.

She grew up in Wichita, Kansas in a very large extended family. She is one of 49 grandchildren and is so far the only veterinarian of them. Prior to moving to the area, she lived and worked in both Kansas City and Huntley, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. She and her husband have three beautiful children: Hannah, Addison, and Carson. Her hobbies include traveling and spending time with her family.
