Pet Ultrasounds—A Powerful Tool

Pet ultrasound has proven to be a powerful tool in veterinary medicine.

Pet ultrasonography is a type of veterinary diagnostic technique that uses high frequency sound (ultrasound) waves to produce a moving, real-time image of your pet. Ultrasonography is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common pet diseases and abnormalities in organ function.

The ultrasound is administered by holding a small probe gently against your pet’s skin. The probe sends out and collects painless ultrasound waves that are interpreted by a sensor and converted into a moving image. Ultrasound waves can generate excellent images of the abdominal cavity.

Veterinary ultrasounds are ideal for viewing images of:

  • Liver
  • Spleen
  • Gallbladder
  • Kidneys
  • Tumors
  • Monitoring pregnancy
  • Heart

We also offer in-house ultrasound testing performed by our veterinary team for diagnosis and screening of minor health conditions such as:

  • Pregnancy
  • Tumors
  • Bladder stones
